This is a piece of Rare polished Clay Canyon Variscite from The Little Green Monster Mine. Variscites from this locality are famous for their beautiful nodules of green Variscite with Wardite, and Crandallite. Clay Canyon Variscites are extremely desirable and sought-after as the mine is no longer accessible.

(*old stock/old polish so it's not the best polish, plus this material can be hard to get a good polish with the various minerals and hardness*) Variscite is a secondary mineral formed by direct deposition from phosphate-bearing water that has reacted with aluminium-rich rocks in a near-surface environment. It occurs as fine-grained masses in nodules, cavity fillings, and crusts. Variscite often contains white veins of the calcium aluminium phosphate mineral crandallite. It is sometimes confused with turquoise; however, variscite is usually greener in color.
