Collector notes
Marra Mamba Tiger's Eye is a rare, ancient variety of chatoyant gemstone found exclusively in the Hamersley Ranges of the Pilbara region in Western Australia. Dating back about 2.7 billion years, it is celebrated for its kaleidoscopic, lace-like bands of rich red, deep blue, yellow, gold, and green, mixed with metallic hematite. This ancient mineral is one of the oldest forms of tiger's eye, forming around the same time Earth’s early atmosphere began to accumulate oxygen. Submarine volcanoes produced iron, which reacted with the oxygen to precipitate onto the seafloor, creating alternating iron-rich and silica-rich layers. Geological shifts and hydrothermal fluids later altered these bands, creating the fibrous, chatoyant shimmer (often referred to as Tiger's Eye).
